Courtney Hurley won the junior women’s epee North American Cup event Jan. 16-19 at Louisville, Ky. She is ranked No. 1 in the country in junior women’s epee and No. 2 in the seniors. She is No. 2 in the world in the junior division.

Sixteen-year-old Adam Illingworth has turned a love of fencing into a trip to the Junior Olympics.

Illingworth, a sophomore at Riverside Christian High School, first saw fencing on television and thought it looked “interesting.”

Kerr Hutchinson may be inexperienced in the big league, but the 14-year-old fencer recently brought home a silver medal in the Under-15 men’s epee from the Canadian National Fencing Championships in Montreal — his first-ever national competition.
