PARALYMPICS: FENCING BRONZE FOR PELLEGRINI September 23, 2008

Beijing, 17 Sept. – Andrea Pellegrini has taken bronze in the fencing competition of the Paralympics, bringing Italy’s total medal count to 18. Having beaten the Russian, Frovlov, in the quarter-finals (15-3) the Italian was defeated by China’s Tian in the semi-finals, going on to win the bronze medal match against Hong Kong’s Chan (15-5). The bronze takes the Italian medal count to 18. As for the other Italians in the competition, Alessio Sarri was beaten by France’s Cratere, whilst Gerardo Mari was overcome by Ukraine’s Shenkevych.
