BEIJING – The new kid on the block and the old guard will be en garde as the Olympic fencing competition gets under way at the Beijing National Fencing Hall.

On Saturday, 22-year-old Julie Cloutier of Repentigny, Que. – the youngest member of the Canadian team – makes her Olympic debut against Germany’s Alexandra Bujdoso in the opening round of the women’s sabre event.
