Australia’s top fencer is battling to reach his second Olympics – and the obstacle is not his deafness, writes David Sygall.
Some athletes have the means to spend endless hours training each day. Others, such as Frank Bartolillo, have to work in a leagues club to pay the bills. Some athletes are famous because they compete in sports that Australians love. Others, like Bartolillo, toil just as hard in a sport most Australians know nothing about.
