Massachusetts: New fencing program in Gloucester catching on August 1, 2008

Apparently, catching swordplay is now just as common as catching swordfish in Gloucester.

Over the past month, the Cape Ann YMCA – which has been collaborating with the City of Gloucester to put together the city’s 2008 Summer Recreational Program — has offered a fencing class to willing participants. The class currently runs every Tuesday at the Stage Fort Park tennis courts beginning at 4 p.m., and will continue for the next month. And so far, the response has been very positive.
