Look out, fencing world! When head coach George Kolombatovich expresses satisfaction with his recruiting class, it means the Lions are likely to retain their dominant position on both the national and Ivy League fencing scenes.

Columbia always has a good crop of fencers, but since they can’t offer the same scholarships that other schools do I don’t think they’ll win NCAAs with Ohio State and Notre Dame around.
It will be interesting to see how Becca Ward helps out the Duke program and if having her at practice will raise the level of all of the fencers there and if they can qualifiy more than a couple of fencers for NCAAs.
