Locals will fence in college

Four local fencers who will graduate from Keene High next month and are regular participants in tournaments at the Keene Family YMCA have announced plans to continue their careers in college.

Leah Arnold and Elsie Goodrich of Marlborough will fence for the University of Vermont.

Chesterfield’s Chris LaRue plans to study engineering at Northeastern University in the fall and join the Huskies’ fencing team.

Keene’s Anders LaScala will be attending the University of New Hampshire thanks to the much sought-after Governor’s Scholarship. The Wildcat fencing team is nationally ranked.
